TOMAH - Lamont C. Schroeder, age 71, of Tomah, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at Agape Acres on Friday, May 27, 2022, after a valiant 3-year battle with cancer. He was born March 26, 1951, in Sparta, Wisconsin to Charles and Garnet (Purdy) Schroeder.  Lamont grew up on the Purdy family farm which became, to this day, one of his favorite places.  It continues to remain a favorite spot to visit for the family.

Lamont was an avid sports fan-especially the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Bucks.   He had a knack for running numbers and enjoyed utilizing this skill in his work.

Although Lamont enjoyed his alone time, he would light up whenever he was surrounded by his family.  He cared deeply for his family and was incredibly proud of his grandkids.   His life was lived well and with no regrets.  He was always there to lend a listening ear and words of wisdom from his life experiences.  Lamont will forever be remembered as a kind, understanding and carefree soul.

He is survived by his children, Lindsey (Aaron), Courtney, and Monte (Ani); his grandchildren, Olivia and Lincoln Pergande, Blake Onsgard, Kaleb and Mason Kidd, and Elizabeth, Austin, and Vivian Schroeder; his siblings, Lisa (Kevin) Parish and Leslie (Chris) Smith; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lori; twin sisters, Ann and Lyn; and the mother of his daughters, Barb.

Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, 6:00 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. A private family burial will be held at the Lagrange Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Croix Hospice.  In Lamont’s honor, the family encourages everyone to not dress formally, but instead, wear your favorite graphic t-shirt. The Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be offered at www.torkelsonfuneralhome.com
