After high school she went to the Northwest Technical Institute of Minneapolis. She graduated with her degree as a Medical Lab Technician. It was there that she met the love of her life, Gary Herritz. They were united in marriage on August 4, 1973 at St. Martens Lutheran Church, Clintonville. After they were married they moved to Mauston, she went to work at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hillsboro. She worked there until 1988. Kathy and Gary moved to Reeseville to Farm. They moved back to the area and she went to work in Quality Control at Northern Engraving in Sparta, then for over 20 years as a manager in Health and Beauty at Burnstads. Kathy found her true calling when her and Gary owned and operated the Field of Dreams Blueberry Farm. She served her Lord and Savior raising her blueberries. She was able to share her faith with the many different people and character’s she met.

She loved the outdoors spending her time: fishing, bird watching, being out on the boat, and waterskiing. She had a love to travel and spent many winters in Mexico with her husband. She was an animal lover and had many dogs, her current dog being “Sundance.” Kathy was outgoing and always enjoyed her many friends. Kathy was the better side of Gary. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, and sister.
