Icy conditions cause multiple accidents near Tomah

Traffic backups on I-94

Posted

Wednesday morning proved to be a slippery slope near Tomah. Icy conditions caused multiple pileups on I-94, including a multiple semi pileup.
The semi pileup seems to have occurred near Warrens, on I-94. Both directions on I-94 have seen traffic backups for hours.
The Monroe County Sheriffs Department, State Patrol, Tomah Fire and Rescue, Monroe County Highway Department and other agencies are working hard to direct traffic on I-94.
The Sparta area does not seem to be near as bad as the Tomah area.
Please be careful and patient when traveling today.
