HENRY WILLIAM “HANK”  LANGREHR

BANGOR/SPARTA - Henry William “Hank”  Langrehr, age 81, of Bangor/Sparta area went to his eternal home in the early morning hours of December 23, 2021.

   He was born on July 23, 1940 in La Crosse to Henry D. and Hulda (Niedfeldt) Langrehr.  He was baptized, confirmed and a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran where he had served on church council.

   Hank married the love of his life, Janet “Jan” N. (Wangen), on October 28, 1961 at North Coon Praire Lutheran Church in Newry.   They had just celebrated 60 years of marriage. 

   Hank spent his entire life living in Fish Creek Valley, except for the time spent serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Yorktown.

   He also served in the National Guard, farmed for 10 years, worked at Coulee Region Enterprises, and Websters until his retirement in 2000. In his retirement years, he enjoyed working on and collecting John Deere tractors.

   He is survived by his wife Jan. His children Lauri (Wayne) Alderman- La Crosse, Sue Snyder- Sparta, Richard “Dick” (Deb) Langrehr- Dodgeville, and Janet “Cis” Langrehr- San Diego, CA. His grandchildren:  Michael (Katie) Alderman, Nicole (Geoff) Lenser, Daniel Alderman, and Kristin (fiancé Al Lindahl) Alderman, Beth (Bill) Fuerstenau, Tim (Regan) Snyder, Natalie (Kent) Anderson, Blaine (Shana) Langrehr, Kayce (Jeremy) Peterson, Nathan (Monique) Langrehr, Zachary Logan and Matthew Logan, and step grandchildren Shannon Peth, Katie Bartell, and Trisha Peth and 23 great grandchildren. Sister Donna Peterson, sister-in-law Charlotte Jerome, brothers-in-law Don (Trish) Wangen and Roger Wangen and numerous nieces and nephews.

   He is prodeeded in death by his partents, siblings:  Alvina (Merlin) Pfaff, Roger (Florence) Langrehr, Arlene (LaVerne) Thielker, Delores (Herbert) Olson, Mary (Don Marnach) (George) Robinson, Hulda Marie (Earl) Melvin, Dorothy (Don) Jerome, (Orrin) Peterson, Richard E. and Daniel L. Langrehr.

   In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bangor, WI.
