Madison - Gregory D. Burnett, age 63, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Agrace HospiceCare surrounded by his family. He was born in Sparta on October 28, 1958 the son of Lloyd and Elizabeth Burnett.
Greg attended Sparta schools and graduated from Sparta High School in 1977. He was an outstanding Track athlete and continued running throughout his life. Greg graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business from Viterbo University. On August 13, 2004 he married Evelyn Rabe. Together they enjoyed going out to eat, especially for fish fry’s and old fashioneds, taking walks, hosting and attending parties, and spending time with family and friends. Greg’s working career was cut short due to his battle with early onset dementia. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; loving step children, Elton (Mimi), Anna, and J.P.; seven siblings, David, Celeste (Mark) Ruebl, Beth (David “Goose”) Kastberg, Andi (Denny) Kyser, Chris (Clark) Nordberg, Martha (Bill) Dumler, and Marie (Stan) Bryl; many nieces and nephews. Greg was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 5001 N. Sherman Avenue, Madison. Burial took place in Resurrection Cemetery. A special thank you to the staff of St. Mary’s Hospital, and to Agrace for their support during this difficult time.
