SPARTA - Eleanor Helen Mashak, 98, of Sparta, WI, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 9, 2023 (one day before her 99th birthday), at Schmitt Woodland Hills Care Center in Richland Center, WI. Eleanor was born September 10, 1924, to Henry John and Frances Matilda (Donskey) Kroeger, in Norwalk, WI. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Nile September 10, 1955, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sparta, WI.
Eleanor is survived by her sons, Tom Mashak of Sparta, WI, and James (Janice) Mashak of Sun Prairie, WI; grandchildren, Jaklyn of Winnetka, IL, Kristin of Baraboo, WI, and Jesse of Fitchburg, WI; four great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband (Nile) in 2013.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Sparta, WI. Father Eric Berns will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends are invited for visitation Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Church.
