Name: Doug Rogalla

Background:  I retired from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel after 23 years. I continued to serve. First with the American Red Cross as part of the Armed Forces Emergency Services division supporting military service members deployed all around the world when they faced family emergencies at home. Later, I served as the Alternate Project Manager for Eagle Systems (a support contractor) at Fort McCoy supporting troops being deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq. I am currently the Commander of the Kendall American Legion and Chairman of the Republican Party of Monroe County, WI. Monroe County was recognized as “County of the Year” at the 2021 State Convention.

Why are you running for county board supervisor? I really like Monroe County. When my wife Terri and I moved to the Kendall area 16 years ago, we were embraced by some of the nicest people we have ever met. I often call Monroe County the “Heart of Wisconsin”. This area is beautiful with rolling hills and amazing sunrises. Waking up every morning makes my heart sing. We are truly blessed to live here. Throughout my life, I have always raised my hand and stepped up when I saw a challenge. I have endeavored to be the best at whatever I set my mind to. I work hard, am a good organizer, ask hard questions and make sound decisions. My family and friends know that I have lots of energy and enjoy making people smile. I would be proud to represent District #16 as their County Board Supervisor.

Why do you believe you are qualified? I am a Leader. I have lots of energy and am a quick learner. I Volunteer and am involved in the Kendall Community. I believe in hard work and the American spirit. Most Americans want less government and not more. I make decisions based on the data presented and ask hard probing questions. I will always do the right thing.

What are the most pressing issues (no more than three), you think the county needs to address and why? This is a work in progress. I have been attending monthly County Board meetings since I decided to run for office. I have been setting up meetings with the County Administrator and Department Directors to learn more about County Government. I have been listening to incumbent County Supervisors and their take on the issues that they are passionate about. I am concerned about the growth of county government. Spending has nearly doubled in ten years. Most of the new spending is a result of huge increases of Federal dollars coming into the state and county. The $30 Trillion Federal debt is not sustainable.

How would you address the issues you described? To Be Determined. I am a quick learner and work hard. There are no easy answers to our pending budget issues.

Name: Craig Buswell

Background: I have lived in the Village of Kendall all of my 73 years. My family settled in Kendall in 1860. I graduated from Kendall Grade, Royall high school and the University of Wisconsin Plattevile. I am a volunteer firemen,I was a Village of Kendall Trustee 28 years and was church chairman about 30 years.I was a Monroe County Supervisor for three terms.

Why are you running for county board supervisor? I have had a several year sabbatical from the board and would try to do some good for the community and County I reside in.

Why do you believe you are qualified? The time I served on the County Board I always represented my district when it was needed and my County when it was needed. I always put much thought into my position, willing to hear anybody out before making a decision. Sometimes the board is only representative of where supervisors live. The board should always represent all of the County when “that is right” not just be a Chamber of commerce for their home district. I feel I have good people skills and like unity.
