CASHTON - Darla Jean Schreier, 82, of Cashton, WI, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2022, at Rolling Hills in Sparta, WI.  Darla was born to Hallie and Marta (Schroeder) Widner, September 9, 1939, in Avalanche, WI.  On November 8, 1959, Darla was united in Holy Matrimony to Ernest Schreier at St. Mary’s Ridge Catholic Church.

   While Darla and Ernie were raising their kids, they would pack them all up in the summer and go along to the work sites and camp so they could all be together. They enjoyed going to horse pulls all over the state together.

   She wore many different hats over her life, working  as a physical therapist at Vernon Memorial Hospital, waitressing at Parkview Lanes, and also put in years at Northern Engraving.   On top of these jobs, Darla also sold AVON products for over 30 years.

   Darla loved wiener dogs and had four over the years.  She enjoyed NASCAR, soap operas and playing cards.  But Darla was a true family woman who adored her husband, children and grandkids.

   Darla is survived by two children, Philip (Christie) Schreier of Sparta, WI, and Lori Ann  (Clarence Servais) Schreier of Cashton; 11 grandchildren, Jess (Eric) Keyes, Jason Hurtz, Taylor Schreier, Garrett (Megan) Schreier, Josh (Gina) and Daniel (Charlie) Klovstad, Sabrina (Brandon) Willey, Sierra and Mason Keyes, Tasha Rapp and Jadana (Ingavor); five great grandbabies and one great-great grandbaby; siblings  Howard (Shirley) Widner, Butch Miller, JoAnn Anderson, Avie Widner; son-in-law, John Rapp; brothers and sisters-in-law Ardella Leis, Roger (Charolette) Schreier, Carol Gilboe, and Dennis (Faye) Schreier; fur babies, Kush, Reggie, Gizmo and Snickers; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and good friends.

   Darla was preceded in death by her husband Ernie; parents, Hallie and Martha; two daughters Katie Schreier and Debra Rapp; brothers and sisters Juan and Shirley Widner, Bob and Evelyn Miller, Sonny Widner; brothers and sisters-in-law Wilbur Anderson, Phylis Miller, Pat and Marvin Swenson Al Gilboe and Joe Leis; and a nephew, Tom Leis.

   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2022, 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cashton, WI.  Father Michael Klos and Father Eric Burns will officiate.  Burial will be held at a later date in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.  Family and friends are invited for visitation Tuesday, May 31, 2022, 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Cashton, WI.  Visitation will also be held Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
