On Thursday, November 11, 2021, Dana Christine Dranselka Goad departed this world for her next journey. She went reluctantly, not wanting to leave her loved ones behind. But she also left knowing her journey here was over.

She was born September 21, 1965, to Doris Ann Dranselka, in Onamia Minnesota, married Robert “Rob” Goad June 10, 2000, in Brainerd Minnesota and worked as an Administrative Assistant with Western Technical College in Tomah, Wisconsin. She was proud of the associates degree she earned from Central Lakes College, encouraged others to get theirs, and championed access to education in rural regions. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved being “Mimi” to her grand babies.

Several years ago, there was a series of books: Chicken Soup for the Soul. That was Dana – Soup for the Soul. She had an uncanny way of connecting with people in a deep and positive way, making you feel warm and comfortable and at home. She was genuine, generous, and gregarious. She had a kind and open heart, a big welcoming smile, and a loud contagious laugh. She loved puzzles and games, movies and music, being outdoors and sitting around a bonfire. She enthusiastically fed anyone, and everyone given the chance. She would happily go without something if she thought you needed it more. Most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends. And if she decided she wanted to be your friend, you really didn’t have a choice in the matter, you simply became her friend and were folded into her ever expanding family.

She is greatly missed by her husband Rob, her children Cassidi (Andrew) Seliga, Kade Dranselka, Cameron (Alisha) Dranselka and Tabitha Dranselka, her siblings Denise Bock, Christina (Jeff) Anderson and Norman (Leigh) Eigenheer and her grandbabies Louisa, David, Conrad, Gavin and Raymond, her “other mother”, Gae Benson, her in-laws Bob and Lynda Goad as well as many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends too numerous to count.

Dana requested two celebrations, one in Tomah Wisconsin and one in Brainerd Minnesota.

Friends are welcome to gather, to reminisce, grieve and support each other, on Thursday, November 18 from 3pm to 6 pm at:

TaphouseTwenty

Conference Room

201 Helen Walton St, Suite 1

Tomah Wisconsin 54660

A bonfire and potluck are being planned for next spring in Brainerd Minnesota.

Dana left a note for us her last night here. It simply said “What will be will be. I love you all”.

So, one last song - que sera sera, whatever will be will be, the future’s not ours to see, que sera sera, what will be will be.

We love you too.

The Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be offered at http://www.torkelsonfuneralhome.com
