Connie Lou Jean Kewit, 64, died on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Mayo Health System in La Crosse. On May 26, 1958, Connie was born to Larry and Shirley (Opsahl) Erickson in Caledonia, Minnesota. Shortly after graduating from Spring Grove High School in 1976, Connie met her soon to be husband, Robert “Bob” Kewit, after he asked her to dance at a local supper club. On September 24, 1978, Connie and Bob were married at St. Paul’s Church in Tomah. Throughout her life, Connie worked various jobs as a CNA at the Tomah Care Center, the Morrow Home, and as a cook at a Touch of Home. As a hard worker with a big heart, Connie enjoyed caring for people and often went the extra mile when it came to making meals. During her free time, Connie could usually be found cooking and baking, singing, camping, or tending to her garden. Connie took pride in her ability to throw together the perfect meal and always made sure her family and friends had food on their table. As an animal lover, Connie also raised Pekingese puppies that she would breed and rehome. She enjoyed spending time making and painting ceramics and had her own house ceramics studio.  Often described as having a beautiful voice, Connie enjoyed singing whenever she could and was never one to say no to karaoke. Connie will be remembered for her loving and caring heart, and will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.
