The Cashton girls’ basketball team will do no worse than .500 in Scenic Bluffs play this season following their latest win against New Lisbon.
The Eagles (10-13 overall, 7-6 Scenic Bluffs) completed their regular-season sweep of the Rockets (8-14, 3-10) with a 60-34 victory in conference play Thursday, February 10 in New Lisbon.
The 26-point road win was an improvement from Cashton’s first meeting with New Lisbon this season — a 50-39 triumph back on January 7 in Cashton.
In Thursday night’s win, junior guard Braylee Hyatt put forth her latest stellar performance with 25 points and sophomore guard Sydney Helgerson added 10 points for the Eagles. Senior guard Paige Olson and junior small forward Ella Brueggen each had 6 points as well.
For the Rockets, freshman center Abby Steele scored 8 points and sophomore shooting guard Maddie Rogers had 7 points in the loss.
The Eagles will close out the regular season by hosting rival Bangor (21-2, 13-0) Tuesday, February 15 at 7 p.m. in Cashton. The Scenic Bluffs champion Cardinals won their first meeting 91-50 on January 13 in Bangor.
