   SPARTA - Bob L. “Dallas” Drawver, 78, of Sparta, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse.

   He was born November 26, 1941, in Melvina, Wis., to Roy and Thelma Drawver. Bob was a graduate of Cashton High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves and served in the Army National Guard for 27 years. Bob was honored to receive an award directly from Generisamo Chiang Kai-Shek and Madam Chiang on Quemoy Island in 1962. He was employed as a civilian at Fort McCoy and retired after 33 years. Bob was a proud member of HOG (Harley Owners Group) of Black River Falls and La Crosse Chapters, ABATE of Wisconsin, American Legion Riders, American Legion Post 100 and the VFW Post 2112, all of Sparta; Vietnam Veterans of America, the Masonic Lodge in Sparta, and the ZOR Shriners, ZOR Midgets and Meca Shrine. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, leather crafts, wood projects, and stained glass. He collected guns, toy John Deere tractors, and above all, Harley Davidson memorabilia. The greatest part of Bob’s life was riding out west with his wife, Lorraine, on their Ultra Classic Harley. Bob and Lorraine were truly soulmates.

   He will be lovingly remembered by his wonderful wife of 47 years, Lorraine; daughter, Chris Bensedira; step-son, Craig Lombard; step-grandson, Connor Lombard; aunt, Betty Fukuda; cousin, Allan Fukuda; and many other relatives and friends.

   A masonic service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta. A visitation will immediately follow from 10:15 a.m. until 12 noon. Military honors will be rendered following the visitation at 12 noon by the Sparta VFW Post 2112 and the United States Army Funeral Honor Guard. Graveside services and burial will be at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, in the Melvina Cemetery.

   In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred, in memory of Bob, to a charity of the donor’s choice.

   The family encourages all who attend to follow the recommended guidelines set forth by the CDC.
