SPARTA - Arthur Edward Yahnke, 85, of Sparta, died Friday, January 27, 2023, at Lakeview Health Center, in West Salem. He was born January 11, 1938, to Edward and Dorothy (Henman) Yahnke, in Madison, Wisconsin.
The family moved to Sparta during his childhood. Arthur graduated from Sparta High School. In 1986, he married Barb Johnson.
Arthur worked 40 plus years for Northern Engraving. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, cribbage, and started woodworking after his retirement. He was actively involved in St. John’s Eve Lutheran Church, and drove for ADRC Senior Services.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Barb; children, Mark Yahnke, Greg (Barb) Yahnke, and Beth Slock; grandchildren, Jennifer (Shaun) Tetzner, Cody Vankempen, and Natalie Yahnke; great-grandchild, Avery Tetzner; step-children, Brenda Givens, Martel Givens, and Greg Givens; sisters, Mary Mundt and Edith Cordner; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Richard Cordner and William Mundt.
