Tomah - Allen G. Lind, age 90, of Tomah, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at the Serenity House in Tomah. He was born August 13, 1932, to Martin and Inez (Anderson) Lind in Taylor, Wisconsin. Allen graduated from Tomah High School in 1950 and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Jean Betthauser, on September 21, 1957, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tomah. She preceded him in death on April 6, 2023. In his younger years, Allen enjoyed playing baseball. He loved being outdoors and in nature; hunting, fishing, and taking in the beautiful scenery. Allen loved spending time at their getaway cabin in Spring Bank.
Allen worked various jobs throughout his life including Betthauser Lumbar, Tomah VA, Toro and Oakdale Electric where he had retired. He was an active member of the Tomah VFW Post #1382 up until his final days.
He is survived by his son, Mark Lind; sister-in-law, Betty Lind of Colorado; and several other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; his parents; his brother, Wesley; and his sister, Dorothy.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery, Tunnel City. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made the Tomah VFW Post #1382 or the Serenity House in Tomah. The Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
